  3. Passport-size photos
  4. Affidavit explaining the marital status of the parties
  5. Notice regarding the intended marriage- as has been provided under the Special Marriage Act
  6. Divorce decree- in case either of the parties were previously married
  7. Death certificate of the spouse- in case either of the parties is a widow/er

The Process of Court Marriage in Chandigarh

  1. Notice for the Intended Marriage: will have to be submitted to the local marriage registrar 30 days in advance at least.
  2. Publication of Notice: The registrar would then have the notice displayed it publicly for objections.
  3. No Objection Period: In case there are no objections against the said notice for marriage, a date shall be fixed for the marriage.
  4. Marriage Registration: On the date previously provided, both parties, with three witnesses, would have to be present to solemnise their marriage.
