Ayush Hwc Inaugurated By The Cji In Supreme Court Premises

 The Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre  which has been recently inaugurated in the premises of the Supreme Court is a state-of-the-art facility which shall ensure a holistic care which shall address the entire physical, mental as well as emotional well-being of the Judges and the staff working at the Supreme Court of India.

About the Event

• The Ayush Holistic Centre was inaugurated on 22nd february by the Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud in the Supreme Court premises. The Judges of the Supreme Court were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
• Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ayush, Dr. Munjpara who is Minister of State for Ayush were present as well. They were accompanied by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, who is the Secretary of Ministry of Ayush, as well as various other senior officers of the Ministry of Ayush. Also, Prof. Tanuja Nesari, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda, was also present at the occasion.
• An MoU explaining about the establishment, operationalisation and expert services at the Ayush Health Wellfare Centre was also signed between the All-India Institute of Ayurveda and the Supreme Court.
• The CJI, while addressing the occasion, expressed his confirmation to the development. He informed that as a proponent of Ayurveda and the holistic lifestyle, he has been working in this regard since he came into office
• In his address, CJI also expressed that in the Supreme Court premises, with over 2000 staff members, stress should be given to a holistic pattern of living not only by the Judges and their families but by the Staff members as well. theWe have over 2000 staff members, and we must look at a holistic pattern of living, not just for the judges and their immediate families but for the staff members too. 
• The CJI expressed his gratefulness to the doctors of the All India Institute Ayurveda.

Ayush Wellness Centre at the Supreme Court

• The Ayush Hospital facility is an initiative by the Supreme Court, and was established with an active participation of the All India Institute of Ayurveda under the support  of the Ministry of Ayush.
• The centre is equipped to provide state-of-the-art holistic care aligned with Ayurvedic principles.
•  Aims to enhance physical, mental, and emotional wellness, focusing on comprehensive health promotion.
• AYUSH HWC is integrated into Ayushman Bharat under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM).

Background of the Ayush Holistic Welfare Centres

• The National Health Policy, 2017 expressed the need for mainstreaming the AYUSH systems ( which includes the Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-rigpa and Homoeopathy), under a pluralistic system of healthcare.
• The Government of India, in the year 2018, decided that 1.5 lakh health & wellness Centres will be created by transforming the already existing sub-health centres as well as  primary health centres, so as to deliver a comprehensive primary health care system.
• It was decided that the Ministry of AYUSH will operationalize around 10% of the total sub-health centres as Holistic Welfare Centres under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
• Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), a coverage of Rs.5 lakhs will be provided to every family per year for secondary and tertiary case hospitalisation at the private hospitals.
