Hindu Marriage Cannot Be Dissolved By Compromise Under Sec 125 Cr. P.C

The Allahabad High Court in a recent judgment held that divorce cannot be granted under section 125 of Crpc. This section is limited to the issue of maintenance. Divorce can be granted under the Hindu Marriage Act. The Court also opined that the Parties cannot confer jurisdiction upon any court by consent if that court does not have jurisdiction.

Dolma Aunty Momos Claims Trademark Victory

The Delhi High Court has struck down the “Dolma trademark” adopted by a person after the famous “Dolma Aunty Momos” filed an enforcement suit. Justice Anish Dayal ordered the impugned trademark to be canceled and removed from the trademark register. Dolma Tsering, a woman known as "Dolma Auntie" Momos, who started selling momos in Delhi in 1994, has filed a complaint for reform.
